Channel Distribution Manager

We are now seeking a Channel Distribution Manager to our office in Stockholm. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of Disney Media Distribution (DMD) Nordic’s strategy within Channel distribution, digital rights and On Demand services relating to the Disney channels and will be working closely with the rest of the DMD team. One of your main tasks will be to deliver and maximize Channel distribution in line with strategic priorities to maximise revenues whilst also ensuring that partners reach the full potential of the deals in place. This will include identifying opportunities, negotiating terms according to strategy, deal execution, and managing internal divisions. You will also support in business development and strategy for Channel Distribution, Branded SVOD services and the future of branded TV.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Managing Channel distribution activities on a day-to-day basis, e.g., client meetings, analysing and preparing offers with internal stakeholders, pitching, negotiation, liaise with legal on drafts, marketing activities, coordinating with DC team on scheduling/ development of SVOD services and technical implementation, performance analysis for SVOD content on platforms etc.
  • Represent Disney at business related fairs and events.
  • Lead/support strategic initiatives/projects to evolve the Disney channel multiplex.
  • Ongoing review and assessment of the evolution of the Nordic MVPDs’ strategies, platforms and offerings
  • Champion and appropriately adapt Regional Channel distribution strategy in the Nordics
  • Accountability for Channel distribution revenues in the Nordics

 Personality:

As a person, you are a highly confident sales individual with excellent communication skills. You preferably have a proven track record of sales activities developing Channel distribution business through innovation and business development. The role has a strong sales and relationship management component which requires excellent customer service in all interactions with clients and executing excellent team work internally. Furthermore, you demonstrate flexibility in response to changes, work well under pressure and have experience juggling many different ‘reporting lines’ and responsibilities at the same time.

 Background and Experience:

  • University degree
  • Excellent understanding of the TV distribution landscape, the underlying mechanics of the Multichannel Video Programming Distributor (MVPD) business in each country and the technical infrastructure of platforms
  • Experience from Channel distribution (e.g., from MVPD or Channel)
  • Good networker within the media industry
  • Experience from negotiating larger deals
  • Excellent English skills
  • Proven track record identifying key business opportunities and challenges
