Head of Global Accounting

Acne Studios is a Stockholm based fashion house with a multi-disciplinary heritage. Through founder and Creative Director Jonny Johansson’s interest in art, architecture and street culture, an alternative path has been found, turning Acne Studios into a well-respected creator of ready-to-wear for men and women. The collections are defined by Jonny Johansson’s signature juxtaposing design and attention to detail, with an emphasis on tailoring and an eclectic use of materials and custom developed fabrics. Acne Studios is independently owned and has over 45 stores over the world including flagship stores in Paris, London, New York City, Los Angeles and Tokyo. The company has an annual turnover of around 160 MEUR and a total number of staff of more than 500, around 150 are working at the headquarters in the Old Town of Stockholm. Acne Studios also operate offices in Paris, New York, Oslo and Copenhagen.

Acne Studios is looking for a new Head of Global Accounting to lead the global accounting function with presence in three regions (Europe, North America and APAC), deliver high quality group reporting and strive to improve process efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to join a global fashion house and play a key role in the continuous growth of the company.

The position reports to CFO and is based at Acne Studios’ headquarters in Stockholm. Travelling will occur. 

Tasks will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Leading the global Accounting team with full management responsibilities – coaching, development, recruitment, resource planning, and goal setting and follow-up etc.
  • Preparing weekly, monthly and yearly reports and analyses, as well as annual accounts, for the Acne Studios Group and subsidiaries with support from the Accounting team and external local accounting firms
  • Developing Finance/Accounting processes, reporting standards and policies, and ensuring compliance as well as proper documentation
  • Ensuring that setup of new entities globally is handled correctly
  • Coordinating Group audit processes and provide audit support
  • Manage bank contacts and issue-resolution

Desired qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting
  • 5+ years’ experience of working with accounting/financial controlling processes and a deep knowledge regarding general accounting practices on both subsidiary and group level
  • Strong leadership qualities and experience from team leadership, preferably on a global level
  • Outstanding analytical and numerical skills
  • Thorough and strong attention to detail
  • Independent with a strong drive, but with a collaborative mindset
  • Significant experience from group consolidation tools, e.g. AARO, and ERP system(s) e.g. MS Dynamics AX, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience from retail and/or fashion industry is meriting
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, additional language skills are meriting
