Category Marketing Manager – Smartphones

Responsible for ‘Go To Market’ planning (below called GTM) and execution during product launches in the Nordic Markets.

As Category Marketing Manager one will act as the link between Samsung HQ, Nordic marketing department and local Customer marketing and Sales functions to initiate and implement category marketing activities, including GTM planning with focus on retail presence, ATL/BTL campaigns and offline and online initiatives within both Samsung’s own and Samsung’s partners’ platforms. The Nordic role also includes the responsibility to roll-out and execute specific marketing activities in each of the individual Nordic markets.

Where the overall objective for position is to drive sell out of, and grow brand preference for, Samsung smartphones in the Nordics, with the ultimate target of reaching a market leading position. JOB SCOPE:

  • Responsible for the full development and alignment between full year ATL marketing roadmap with corresponding roadmaps for BTL/Customer/Retail/Online for the Nordics for Smartphones. Responsibility includes aligning objective and KPIs, budget management, resource planning and follow-up of the activities carried out.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the coordination of the Nordic marketing plan and product launches with the local Customer marketing functions in order to secure a coordinated approach towards the respective nordic markets.
  • To be leading and responsible for the GTM process during product launches, acting as Control Tower for stakeholders across our teams and functions within SENA. Responsible for development and communication of a Launch toolbox (with all relevant campaign elements – ATL/BTL/online/retail) aligned with key stakeholders within Customer Marketing/Retail Marketing/Online to ensure a successful rollout across the Nordics.
  • Management and product launch briefing of creative-, media- and action marketing agencies within SENA network. Follow up/evaluation on the activities and investments on a regular basis.
  • Active part in developing messaging (for PR, Online, Channel- and Category Marketing and instore product information) for focus products within category, in close co-operation with IM Marketing Manager, PR team and Product Management.
  • In charge of setting and keeping a running Quarterly Marketing Plan available for all stakeholders.
  • Extended operational function for Swedish and Nordic customers in terms of joint marketing planning and activity execution.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • University degree, preferably with a major in Marketing

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Marketing “rockstar”, with minimum 8-10 years of solid consumer marketing experience from strong brands within Consumer Electronics/Telecom and/or FMCG
  • Experience of Go to market planning on multi-country markets
  • Experience from management of large marketing budgets, covering ATL as well as BTL
  • Solid grasp of all elements of the media mix, ranging from conventional offline, to online and experiential marketing
  • Experience from a Nordic matrix organization.
  • Experience of channel Sales and Marketing is a merit
  • Results & performance drive, with a passion for marketing effectiveness
