Consultant/Project Manager APAC

Then we have the perfect opportunity for you. Our APAC region is growing and we are currently looking for consultants and project managers for long term assignments abroad a Southeast Asia or Greater China market.

Business Sweden has a unique mandate to help Swedish companies grow global sales, and international companies invest and expand in Sweden. We do this through trade promotion and business consulting activities. In practice, our consulting work is similar to that of large international strategy consulting firms. We have the same analytical approach and methods; however, we are dedicated to supporting Swedish companies’ international expansion and work closely with the Swedish foreign ministry and embassies to meet our clients Business to Government needs.

The type of projects we do vary greatly but includes:

  • Supporting our clients to understand local market dynamics
  • Providing business development as a service
  • Developing go-to-market plans and support execution
  • Managing government and key stakeholder contacts
  • Localization and market establishment support

Our goal is to support Swedish companies in growing global sales, minimize risk in their expansion and shorten their time to market.

What do we expect from you?

We have a high-energy entrepreneurial culture that requires flexibility, adaptability, and independent drive. Responsibilities for you would include:

  • Contributing to growth or market entry oriented consulting projects that support Swedish companies across industries in their APAC expansion.
  • Supporting the development of new client relationships, including identifying opportunities, developing leads, and driving the dialogue with the client.
  • Developing junior colleagues consulting toolbox and supporting them in their growth journeys.
  • Contributing to building a robust people-centric company culture that spans across borders.

Where will you be based?

Our foreign based consultants are passionate about living abroad and learning to work in new cultures. You will work on a 2-3 year contract in an APAC market which can either be extended or moved to another country based upon your personal interests and the development of our organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to be based in one of our vibrant world cities in the APAC region.

Which market in APAC to begin at will be discussed and agreed upon during the recruitment process.

Whom are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a high-performing team in an intellectually stimulating environment and is to learn and contribute. We also look for you to be passionate, self-motivated, curious, and with a positive can-do attitude.

  • 2-5 years of experience from a Tier 1 or 2 management/strategy consulting firm.
  • Experience from working in teams towards tight deadlines.
  • International experience is viewed favorably. 
  • Expert level user of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Business level proficiency in both written and spoken English and Swedish. Mandarin or other Asian language is meriting.
  • Strong business mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to build personal relations, empathy, and trust with both colleagues and clients. 
  • A strong desire to learn and continue to develop your toolbox
