Interim Director Business Control

For an expanding Business unit within a large FMCG company, we are looking for an Interim Director of Business Control. As Director Business Control the Consultant will be working with strategic financial questions in an expanding business, collaborating closely with top management. The Consultant will have the full ownership of the business control agenda for Business Unit International and set the long-term targets and priorities together with the Vice President Business Unit International. Further the Consultant will lead the team and the financial processes focused on analyzing business performance, supporting management decision making and ensuring efficient business practices. 

  • Commencement date: ASAP
  • Completion date: Minimum 6 months
  • Scope: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Possibility to distance work, i.e. not at office: If everything works well its possible to work from home for maximum 2 days/week, the first month will be 100% at the office

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and develop the Business Control function as well as the financial strategy process for Business Unit International
  • Develop and ensure efficient, lean and high-quality business and financial reporting
  • Provide support and guidance for functional leaders in financial related quires
  • Be a member and a key contributor to the business unit’s management team
  • Be responsible for developing business cases for the unit and lead ad-hoc strategy projects together with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and ensure high-quality KPIs and other strategic targets in line with Business Unit International’s long-term agenda
  • Lead the way for streamlining internal key performance metrics and make it available to relevant stakeholders, for example via BI-tools
  • Develop and improve efficient models for pricing, business cases and sales forecast planning
  • Actively promote a result- and business-oriented culture within the Business Unit
  • Participate and contribute to ad-hoc/special projects
  • Coach the Business Control team, currently two people, be responsible for the team budget and personnel
  • Select needed external partners on local markets to collect sales and consumer data


  • Academic degree in Business or Economics 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of qualified business controlling in a dynamic environment, or similar experience from management consulting or financial advisory
  • Experience from a global work environment 
  • High level of proficiency in English
  • A system savvy and high degree of literacy in Excel and BI tools
  • Prior experience of business expansion is meritable
