Strategic Content Manager

We are looking for a Strategic Content Manager to secure future content negotiations, acquisitions and development within the TV area.

We’re looking for someone with a well-established record of big negotiations, business development competence and experience from the TV and Media area in the Nordics. You have a deep interest and passion for the media/telco market- new trends, customer’s expectations, content and products related to the media sector. You will have a highly visible role and by working close and together with the global and local TV teams, you will have great impact on existing and new business growth. 

The role as Strategic Content Manager will require a strong mix of strategic thinking to identify appropriate mix of content and partnerships and excellent negotiation skills required to close multi-year, multi-faceted licensing agreements. The Strategic Content Manager should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple projects, and working under tight time-frames. You are also a motivated, self-starter and has the ability to constantly adapt to an ever-changing digital entertainment business environment.

You will be part of the Content Media Development Team in Group Strategy & Commercial. Together and individually, you work in close collaboration with external and internal stakeholders and key touch points within the organization will be the Country Consumer organizations, TV/Media Tech org, Marketing, IT, CSR, Product and many others. Your main tasks will be:

Secure content to deliver on Telia Company´s content strategy with focus on negotiations:

  • Lead negotiator for global content partner agreements as well as taking the role of have the full Telia Company perspective in local negotiations, this in close collaborations with the local content management.
  • Drive the entire content negotiation cycle – negotiation preparations, strategic and tactic set up, financial analysis and contract drafting as well as long-term partner management
  • Identify appropriate content to acquire and secure all rights needed to deliver on our content strategy.
  • Analyze and provide risk management and recommendations in various situations regarding negotiations, agreements and partnerships
  • Analyze contracts in response to business and legal requests and questions
  • Follow local and global trends, competitors and regulations on the market

Business development and partner management:

  • Develop and evaluate new ideas, business concepts and partners
  • Drive and participate in packaging- re-packaging and distribution concepts for content based on our content strategy
  • Take a lead in strategy discussion within your area of responsibility and actively participate in the strategy work within the business area TV/Media
  • Actively work with our content providers and internal stakeholders to develop and improve business and customer development and satisfaction.

Professional experience:

  • Strong negotiations experience, lead in handling big negotiations with successful result
  • Experience from complex partnerships
  • Prior distribution and content experience, in particular from the media & broadcasting industry
  • International experience is a plus


  • 5+ years experience from negotiations and business development
  • 3+ years experience from working within the TV/media industry
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • Great presentation skills and expertise in Power Point and presentation design/writing
  • Fluency in English, both in writing and oral.
  • Excellent excel and power point skills
  • Sales and marketing experience is a plus
  • Management / Project Management experience is a plus
