Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

This is an opportunity to step into a senior CMO role with a clear mandate to professionalize marketing, strengthen the connection between marketing and sales, and build a modern, effective and business-driven global marketing function.

About the role

As Chief Marketing Officer, you hold the overall responsibility for the organization’s global marketing and brand agenda, with a strong focus on enabling sales and supporting the overall business strategy. The role is both strategic and operational, centered on driving change and establishing marketing as a clear value creator for the business, particularly in a B2B context.

You will operate in an international environment with both central and regional stakeholders and play a key role in aligning the organization around shared objectives, priorities and ways of working. A core part of the assignment is to clearly articulate the role, priorities and impact of marketing, ensuring strong internal alignment across the organization, particularly within sales.

You report directly to the CEO and are part of a tight, senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining, developing and executing the global marketing and brand strategy
  • Owning and managing global marketing activities and budget
  • Tracking, analysing and communicating KPIs at a global level
  • Ensuring alignment between global and local marketing initiatives
  • Planning, executing and following up marketing and go-to-market initiatives
  • Establishing strong internal communication and organizational alignment
  • Bridging the gap between marketing and sales and strengthening collaboration
  • Ensuring marketing supports and enables sales in a clear, structured way
  • Responsibility for tools, systems, suppliers and marketing automation
  • Developing and managing global digital platforms, including website and social channels

The role involves a clear shift from more B2C-inspired approaches towards a more mature, efficient and B2B-driven marketing model, with strong focus on commercial impact, clarity and effectiveness.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a senior and confident CMO who can hold the full picture while working close to the business. You have the credibility to drive change, the integrity to challenge when needed, and the communication skills required to engage and align a complex, international organization.

You bring:

  • Senior marketing leadership experience from B2B environments
  • Experience from international organizations, preferably within professional services or consulting
  • Strong understanding of the interface between marketing and sales
  • Ability to operate on both strategic and tactical levels with a clear business focus
  • Experience in building structure, processes and common ways of working
  • Strong analytical capability and an academic foundation
  • Experience with modern marketing tools, systems and data-driven approaches
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and create engagement across regions and functions
