Senior Sourcing Manager

Vattenfall is now looking for a senior professional to fill the position as Senior Sourcing Manager Procurement Distribution Sweden. The role sits within Staff Function Procurement and provides support to BU Distribution Sweden.

As Senior Sourcing Manager Distribution Sweden you will be involved in influencing tomorrow’s climate-smart society to create an electricity grid of the future.

Main responsibility as Senior Sourcing Manager

  • Running complex tenders in categories substations, overhead lines, civil construction, electrical installations and further power grid related areas
  • Be on top of industry trends and market conditions within the assigned category. Consult business on procurement issues in relevant forums where tenders/strategic topics from the assigned projects are on the agenda.

Other responsibilities depending on background and interest

  • Develop sourcing strategies & levers incl. spend analysis, alternative negotiation methods such as game theory, developing of alternative evaluation and incentive models
  • Developing & piloting alternative engagement models with supplier market
  • Contract implementation incl. contractual training of the demand owners, setting up mini-tender and call off models, manage commercial escalations during full contract life cycle
  • Supplier performance management and development within the assigned scope, including topics such as quality, sustainability, cooperation and innovation
  • Alignment with category managers of related categories

Experience and skills

  • 5-10 years relevant working experience as senior sourcing manager, preferably in energy, utilities or infrastructure industry
  • Experience with contract management
  • Experience with and knowledgeable of EU tender law (LUF in Sweden)
  • Solid knowledge of energy business, understanding of regulated DSO business
  • Knowledgeable of forms of contract like AB / ABT / FIDIC
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, in Swedish and English

The right candidate will have significant experience in driving business with large spend suppliers in an international environment, often with a strict budget and challenging deadlines. Experience from close cooperation with project managers, technical colleagues, legal counsel, credit risk, insurance experts etc. And also the ability and will to work across the relevant teams such as: asset management, project management, contract management, R&D, Legal, sustainability etc. to deliver complete solutions, products and services.

Strong negotiating, and superior interpersonal skills will be needed as well as a strong credibility built through both business insights and leadership.
