The CFO at Airpelago plays a pivotal role in driving, structuring and planning the company’s
financials. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the executive team, the
CFO is responsible for overseeing Airpelago’s financial operations and ensuring a financial
strategy that supports and handles growth across several markets.
Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with Airpelago’s
overall business objectives, including cashflow management
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, forecasting,
auditing and reporting
Manage and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to
secure funding and optimize financial resources
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws
Lead the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, identifying potential
opportunities for strategic growth and expansion
Participate as a member of the management team; collaborate with the CEO and other
executives to formulate and execute Airpelago’s long-term business strategy
Make recommendations on company structure
Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports to the CEO, the board and investors
Evaluate financing needs in general and in particularly for potential expansion into
other markets, together with frequent monitoring of liquidity
Own, handle, and optimize billing processes
Oversee external accounting services; support the setup of subsidiaries in the UK,
Germany, France, Portugal and the US.
Lead efforts to implement QESOs in new markets with legal support from external
local law firms and advisors
Support group accounting from 2025 and improve controlling functions; manage VAT
for EU and non-EU transactions
Automate and outsource processes wherever possible, such as reporting routines and
supporting systems
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CFO or in a senior accounting leadership role in a
similar environment
Proven success in leading financial operations for globally present companies or
experience across multiple European countries
In-depth understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and their
implications for financial reporting and compliance
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively
convey complex financial information to a diverse audience
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, fostering a high-
performing finance function
Fluency in Swedish and English; additional languages are advantageous
Ability to create value beyond financial terms by thinking innovatively about banking
and finance as enablers for broader business success
