As Discovery Communications’ portfolio continues to grow – around the world and across platforms – the Global Technology & Operations team is building media technology and IT systems that meet the world class standard for which Discovery is known. GT&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Discovery’s products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Discovery’s growing pay-TV, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms.

As an IT Business Analyst you will be responsible for the planning and execution throughout the lifecycle of one or more software solutions within a business domain. You will know the entire business needs from a systems and applications perspective and evaluate the organisation’s internal workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  •       Act as a link between support, vendors and internal departments and the go to person for support 
  •       Analyse and evaluate all business systems and work processes and provide suggestions for      improvements focusing on efficiency
  •       See possibilities of improvements and implement those
  •       Create and prioritize product and business requirements and work close towards stakeholders and end-users
  •       Strategic and tactical planning of systems feature and functionality as well as day to day business operations
  •       General admin and release and management of business systems
  •       Provide a wide variety of services to our business users including business analysis and quality assurance.

 Experience and Background:

  •       Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position within the IT industry
  •       Knowledge of systems integration and analysis, preferably within the media industry
  •       Hands on experience and knowledge of Ad Sales systems. Furthermore, working with systems such as SAP, Landmark and Whatson is considered a plus
  •       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.

You are an outgoing person with great communication skills as you will develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with IT groups, business partners, and vendors. Further, you are self-going and a good communicator and knows how to effectively move through a large company with many stakeholders.
