The position

The Commercial Business Development Manager is a pivotal member of the Commercial Management Team, responsible for driving business growth and profitability. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role collaborates closely with Regional Sales Directors, the Product Management Director, and provides essential support to the Divisional Management on a wide range of commercial business development & -control topics. The role also involves providing general support for board and management meetings. You will be part of the division, Hardware Europe and report to Commercial Director & Divisional VP Strategy and M&A.

Strategy

  • Contribute to the development, execution & follow-up of Strategic plans (Business unit & Divisional strategy)
  • Together with the Business unit Commercial management team – Set the commercial strategy from product/innovation to G2M & commercialization
  • Identify emerging market trends and assess their impact on the division’s & business unit long-term objectives
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to align commercial strategies with overall divisional goal

Sales and Margin Development

  • With the local sales organizations, develop and implement local G2M strategies to drive sales growth, increase market share, and optimize profit margins
  • Analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with regional sales directors to establish sales targets and performance metrics

Pricing Strategy

  • Develop & implement Pricing Strategy & processes that maximizes revenue & profitability while ensuring competitive positioning
  • Monitor and adjust pricing models in response to market dynamics [e.g. willingness to pay, competition] as well as cost changes
  • Conduct regular pricing reviews and analysis to identify pricing improvement opportunities

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Support VP Strategy/M&A in identification, research & evaluation of M&A Opportunities in line with Divisional & BU Strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support M&A activities, including integration planning and execution

Commercial Business Control

  • Together with Commercial Director & VP Finance – Implement robust financial controls to monitor sales & margin performance, budgets, and expenses
  • Generate regular reports and analyses for the Divisional Management Team to inform decision-making
  • Identify areas for improvement and work to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial operations

General business development & support

  • Board & Management meeting preparations e.g. Power point, data collection etc.
  • Documentation & follow-up of actions in management team meetings
  • Support in making sure pre-requisites to drive sales are in place [master data, price-lists etc.]

Previous Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably have experience within management consulting with proven experience in commercial business development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Project Management skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software tools.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
