SAS Corporate Strategy is a small department working closely with SAS’ management team. The department is responsible for the overall SAS business strategy which is updated annually. Outside the annual strategy work the unit is working closely with management and business unit leaders to develop department strategies, deliver strategic projects, and support overall top management decision making.
SAS is on a transformation journey in a challenging industry with new customer behaviors and a quickly changing competitive landscape. The strategy team is central to SAS’ transformation and there are numerous interesting and challenging new topics to be addressed in the future.
The strategy team is continuously looking for great talent to further strengthen the team. The target is to recruit 1-2 Strategy Managers before the end of the year.
Role description and qualifications
Position and location
• SAS is recruiting for a Strategy Manager, reporting to Vice President Corporate Strategy
• Position is located in SAS head office in Frösundavik, Stockholm, with very limited expectations on travel
Corporate Strategy department responsibilities
• Defining the SAS Group overall business strategy and the resulting strategic project agenda.
• Driving and/or supporting the implementation of the SAS Group overall business strategy. This work is commissioned by Group Management and carried out in close collaboration with division management and all parts of the organization
• Strategic analysis in selected areas/projects, typically to produce decision supporting material
Strategy Manager main duties
• Strategic agenda
• Contribute in shaping and developing the group strategy agenda, including prioritization, scoping, planning, and ensuring buy-in
• Develop and scope strategic projects / initiatives together with various leaders in the organization
• Secure buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization
• Project delivery
• Independently lead or support projects on the Group Strategy agenda, in collaboration with participating organizational units, to reach agreed business outcomes on time, quality and cost. This includes
• Project planning and reporting
• Securing necessary resources
• Day-to-day participation in or management of projects (team size typically 2-5 people)
• Manage external resources/consultants
• Business Intelligence
• Top management decision making support, including data gathering, analyses, recommendations and presentations
• Monitor industry and competition, documenting and analyzing market development, trends, and events
Qualifications and Experience:
• University degree – Master of Science/Business Administration or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience from strategy development, business development and program management, preferably from major consultancy firm or equivalent
• Solid track record of delivering large, complex projects preferably involving strategy and/or business transformation
